Statutory Declaration

timboyork

I need to provide a statutory Declaration to a Vietnam Government department but cannot find someone who can officially witness my signature. Back home, this would be a Notary Public but I can't locate one here.

Maybe post it on the forum of the city you live in. You posted it on the country thread, not city.

Sorry, "here" is Ho Chi Minh City.

Thanks, I'm new at this (and a slow learner)

Post it in the HCMC and Saigon forums.

I was at a big Notary office last week that does all sorts of stuff like that. Last week was for transfer contract after selling my bike back to the shop owner. Passport required, signature checked & witnessed, documents countersigned & 2 fingerprints taken & transferred to the final document. It was on Cong Hoa street. Cost 300k vnd

Notary Public

That link is a PDF file of all official notary public offices in Saigon and the outer areas. In total, there are 86 locations.

You do that frequently.  Even if you sincerely think it is in the wrong place, wouldn't it be nicer to seek the consent of the OP first?

Also has that whole Saigon/Ho Chi Minh business ever been resolved?  Again, there is now a Thu Duc City.  Do we have a thread for that?

I don't think the answer to either question would be a yes.  The IT team has a whole lot of problems to take care of; every single one of them is more important than merging Saigon and HCMC together, or creating a new forum for a city which up until 6 months ago was still a part of Saigon.
