Medical assistance.

dguy901

I am having surgery done on my shoulder and will need to clean and dress the wound on the rear of the clavicle daily for at least a week near district 1. Does anyone have an idea where I can go to have a surgical wound cleaned and dressed daily at a reasonable cost?

Where are you having the surgery? If locally, can they suggest somewhere to you?

As with most hospitals worldwide, the larger hospitals in Vietnam are almost always directly connected to the outpatient clinics for all services, as well as some home health services.

If you are not otherwise mobility restricted, you should be able to take a grab car or taxi to the outpatient clinic for dressing changes. That's almost certainly going to be the most affordable option.

If it's absolutely necessary, your physician or the nursing staff can refer you to home health care but that will be the more expensive option.

One more consideration:

It's usually required to pay for a course of healthcare here in Vietnam BEFORE you receive it.

However, you might be surprised how much of your follow-up care is included in the price you pay.

Routine scheduled checkups may very well be included in what you pay up front.

Hopefully you have a trustworthy English-speaking Vietnamese contact who can accompany you to your pre-op appointment and get all of your questions answered ahead of time.

  Hi,

In every disctrict HCM City, there are some local medical stations (not hospital), you can go there to clean your wound. It is cheap and not many patients. You need search address near you area. These places I search on internet in distrist 1, you need check address again :

Trạm Y tế Phường Cô Giang: 97 Cô Giang, Phường Cô Giang, Quận 1 (Điện thoại: 028. 38 367 103).

Trạm Y tế phường Bến Thành: Sát chợ Bến Thành.

Trạm Y tế Phường Nguyễn Thái Bình: 160 Nguyễn Công Trứ, Phường Nguyễn Thái Bình.

Trung tâm Y tế Quận 1: Số 02 Đặng Tất, phường Tân Định

Maybe, you should prepare a Vietnamese language to ask them do that

Wish you all best
