School nurse Ho Chi Minh

Aisling Murphy

Hi,

Does anyone know how I could start the process of possibly becoming a school nurse in Ho Chi Minh City?

I’m an Irish national, experienced nurse at home. Considering an international school for language purposes only.

Don’t know where to begin if anyone has any advice.

Thanks

I've been following the general subject of foreign nurses being hired here since 2017, because I'm a retired California R.N.

Unfortunately, unless you speak fluent Tiếng Việt, there's zero chance of you being hired here, especially in an "international" school, where many of the students are actually Vietnamese children who are still learning English and unable to easily or comfortably discuss their healthcare needs with you.

Vietnam has all of the nurses they need, many of whom speak sufficient English to communicate with foreigners.

Also, the international schools are all private moneymaking machines, and the owners would never want to spend the extra money to hire a foreigner when (in their minds) a Vietnamese nurse is more than adequate to meet their needs.

Good luck with your search for suitable legal employment 🙏
