Gym Membership in HCMC

RTLisSB

I noticed several gyms in HCMC. The city seems to have everything from large "Western" chains to smaller, local gyms. Has anyone had experience with joining a good gym in HCMC (D1, 2, or 3)? If so, was there a downside? Can you give me an idea of what I should be willing to pay?

Cheers!

@RTLisSB I use Fit24. It's not open 24 hours though.

It's the usual salesman/woman exercise when you go in. Because I'm here long term I don't have an issue and you can pay a fee of 200k put your membership on hold which I do if I go away for any great length of time.

Quality of the trainers is a bit of hit and miss in all these gyms. But overall they seem quite good, but I don't use a PT.

Depending on the deals they've got going, I tend to pay between 8 and 10 million VND for two years for the regular Silver membership. I always haggle with them, no matter what the promotion.

I've also used Saigon Sports Club, they're not cheap and they cater to martial arts and whatever that exercise regimen is where they don't do proper pull-ups. I totally enjoyed my time using them.

@MyGuess Thanks MG.

10M for two years sounds pretty good. I will check them out.

Cheers!

I remember reading online complaints about gyms in VN regarding the volume (high) and the quality (low) of the music played there.

As for the cost, as is often mentioned, Vietnam is generally not an expensive place to live unless you're into conspicuous consumption and want to spend more money.
