Returning to VN

richiv

I'm married to a Vietnamese and currently staying here on a VEC, renewing every three months.  Because of covid if I leave VN, I will not be allowed back in, even with the VEC. If I switch to a residence permit (TRC?), does anyone know if the govt will allow me to leave and return?

Not currently.

No currently you cannot leave and return.. today there are 25 fresh cars of covid in HCM.

But the TRC suits your need better than keep renewing the VEC.. cheaper and saves passport pages and visitors to your agent or immigration office.

Not possible to return at the moment.

Even with Vietnamese passport holders abroad, many are desperately waiting for "rescue flights" organised by the government.
