Australian Nurse Wanting to Relocate to Hanoi

Hi everybody 😎 My name is Alex and I am an Enrolled Divisions 2 Nurse (LPN) from Cairns in Australia. I have fallen very much in love with Hanoi and its people  (I have made many beautiful friends) and now want to relocate to live permanently in Hanoi. Any suggestions on finding work  (anything would be awesome), accommodation etc would be most welcome. Take care 😃

The only work you will get is teaching English. I would advise you to do some research on a Celta or Tesol course and go from there.

Again, I don't know about AU but in the US an LPN does not hold a Baccalaureate degree.  I know there are differing opinions about teaching without degrees but with a few exceptions you do need on for a work permit.

Thats correct, but as we all know, the way things work here is not by the law.

Anyone who has lived in VN for over a week should know that.  I am still conflicted about advising people to do something that is basically illegal.

In the US there is an old joke about the hillbilly who fills out an application and answers two standard questions.  Question one: "Have you ever been convicted of a felony?" Answer: "No";  Question two:  "Why"  Answer: "Never got caught."  Of course you can get away with it but is it right?

The reason why it happens is that most schools don't want to go through the hassle and the cost. Once the Education department has you registered that gives the police the right to extort you for as much as they can.

Never said it was what the OP should do, just posting some helpful information.
