Has anyone heard any updates about any changes for visa runs ? - @MarkinNam

I hear about it all the time. Seriously at least once a day I see a new rumor on Facebook or YouTube. But in the end, it's usually just rumors.

However Thailand has made the decision to go back to the 30-day Visa free entry that was in effect prior to spring of 2021 when they extended the Visa free stay to 60 days.

I think the part that is worth noting here in Vietnam is that they (Thailand) have decided that 60 days is too long and encourages people to engage in illegal activities such as illegal employment and the illegal establishment of business activities.

I have personally been hoping that Vietnam would decrease the 90-day tourist visa to something shorter, discouraging people from trying to live here long-term in tourist status, primarily because of the absolute mess that itinerant indigent vagabonds are creating here in Dà Nẵng.

So while I haven't heard anything specific and official from the government of Vietnam, I think your concern is well founded, because it absolutely wouldn't surprise me if the government here were to tighten up and restrict tourist visa regulations.

Please dont hope for the shortening too hard. Im not a trouble maker, preferring to keep a low profile . My concern is signing up for 6 month rental then being shoved out because of changes. I started out looking for a low cost rental but they are generally rubbish, something I wouldn't invite a friend to visit. Im checking my finances and 11 to 13 trieu would suit. Q2 or Q7.
