Well, it's damn great to back home in Viet Nam 🥳🥳🥳🥳 Lived here for 7 years before (2005 ~ 2012). And once divorce happened in Oz, it was an easy life choice to return permanently to Viet Nam 😉

Tam Dao?! So, how's your Vietnamese language skills?😁

Shite.  But don't need it really.  As an ex ESL Teacher here for many years, I learned to communicate without the language.  A lot of charades-type communication 😉

That reminded me of a post from an expat.com member who went looking to buy eggs.

Small shop. Owner had no English, expat no Vietnamese.

He tucked his thumbs under his arms, moving elbows wing-like, scratching at ground with feet, then slight squat before picking up the imaginary egg and presenting it to the shop owner.

Worked a charm! The shop owner understood perfectly. She ran to the back of the shop, returning with...toilet paper.

HAR!

As an aside, I spent 2.5 years next door to Tam Dao, in Thai Nguyen City, so I'm very familiar with performing charades.

You've been away for a while. Have you much experience using Google Dịch?
