Not everyone's experiences in Thailand are the same with every service or daily contact. In Thailand, I have an excellent dental clinic for general dental work, crowns and an excellent root canal specialist. And all of them speak excellent English.

I don't recall. It's been several years since I needed any crown or root canal. I didn't sweat it, whatever the cost was at the time.
