Covid 19 Vacine

No plans for that at present.You need to have a negative test not more than 72 hours before you fly and do 14 days quarantine at an approved hotel.
Of course the situation is very fluid so maybe in the future.

Man I hope that changes! The 14 day issue is the issue! My first trip over will only be a few weeks so I can explore and the second trip will be extended...I am not spending 14 days locked down..I know its the plan to keep Thailand free of the crud but at some point letting people in who have the Vax. only makes sense ...

I see a major misconception here. Being vaccinated  does NOT make you unable to spread covid19! Quarantine will still be worldwide in 2021 until cases drop dramatically and most people are vaccinated.

Vaccines rarely prevent infection, but prevent serious disease. The SARS-cov-2 virus vaccine significantly reduces the risk of getting serious Covid19 disease. You still get infected and can spread the virus while your immune system fights the virus. All the vaccine does is prepare your immune system for the fight so that the risk of serious consequences and or death are greatly reduced.

So mask wearing, social distancing and quarantine procedures will still be used all of 2021. Hopefully if rich countries pay for poor countries to get vaccinated (and mutations dont happen that overcome 1st gen vaccines) then it will fade away to become a minor cold like issue by 2022.

.I've heard from a Thai resident that the Thai Government has announced that the 14 day quarantine period will be waived for those travelers that have had the 2 dose vaccine course. How you prove this I don't know at present.

Lots of countries are looking at this currently, you get a certificate once you have had the two shots
The issue is that some people don't want the shots, some people have died after the shots, doctors say not related but who knows.

I have heard of no such announcement, do you have any sources for it?

There has been no such announcement.Fake news.

I've contacted the person that told me this.
It was reported on Thai News 3 or 4 nights ago.
Now it may be that it is not implemented, and just that the Thai Government is considering it.
Since I did not see the news myself I cannot verify exactly what was said, but since it was a Thai that told me I can only assume that at least something along these lines was newsworthy.

The Public Health Ministry issued a statement on Tuesday saying all arrivals to Thailand will have to undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine even if they have been vaccinated.
Dr Opas Karnkawinpong, director-general of the Disease Control Department, said the Covid-19 vaccines are still new and their effectiveness have still not been determined. He added that it still too early to say whether an inoculated person can be considered safe enough to travel.Hence, he said, before there are clear answers on the vaccine, it will still be necessary for people arriving from overseas to observe quarantine measures.
