Problem with trees

Hi guys has anyone had a similar experience as me regarding high trees near our property..I live out in the sticks a bit in just above Central Thailand.. Moved in here 4 years ago a piece  of. Land at the back of the house quite large has hundreds of trees.. Now theses trees not only overhang our garden but are actually on our roof.. Our gutter and downpipe is completely blocked.. Gutter broken is some area beyond repair.. Im not talking about 1 or 2 branches there are actual trees over the wall.. We contacted the boss man of the village 2 years ago been back 3 times  nothing done doesn't want to know about this also more important the trees are high very high Ive seen them bending towards the house in the wind  I expressed my fears about my children's bed room being near the wall. He said doesn't know who owns it Yep.. And then said in the next breath the Ower not in country Yep.. Nothing I can do he saidi its at the point I must get this repaired but it will only be the same again in a few months if nothing g is done. Its causing arguments with my wife over this as she just bends to authority as most thais do. I know this whole thing is corrupt.. Do I rock the apple cart in the village where I live or do I speak up and possibly cause friction.. Any helpful answers appreciated.. If you've had similar I'd like to know..
