S Pass Approved status and then Withdrawn

I was working in Company A serving my notice period after my S Pass application for Company B has been approved.

Yesterday was my last day in Company A and my S Pass application status has changed to Withdrawn.

I have already emailed the Company B employer regarding this and is still waiting for their reply but I'm supposedly starting on Monday.

1. My question is that is the Withdrawn status caused by my previous employer?

2. Am I legally eligible to work for Company B without having my S Pass's employer updated to Company B yet?

1. How can we know why your IPA was withdrawn? Ask your employer - and if they did not do it, they should contact MoM!
2. You are NOT allowed to work for any company unless you have a work pass specifically issued for that employer.  (Technically, an S-Pass cannot be updated - only cancelled and a new one issued for the next job.)
Since illegal work is a BIG No-No here, you should not visit the employer's offices before this has been clarified!

Hi beppi, thanks for answering.

I just found out that my IPA letter has expired last Friday which is why the S Pass application was updated to Withdrawn.

I have yet to receive an update from my new employer if they have requested to extend my IPA letter or not. I have read in MoM website that IPA extension must be done 7 days before the IPA expires. I'm afraid the new employer forgot to extend my IPA letter.

If my IPA letter has expired and if my new employer failed to extend my IPA validity within the last 7 days before expiry and my IPA has already expired, is it still possible to appeal and extend this OR they have the reapply my pass again and wait for the same application waiting time for approval? Will it affect the employer or mine's credibility with MoM?

The regulations of course say that an expired IPA is lost, so a new EP would have to be applied for (with the usual processing times of a month or two). But sometimes the processing officer is lenient if the employer apologizes for their mistake and asks for a tolerant solution - so hope for the best!

You were right. They (employer's agent handling pass applications) had to reapply my pass.

My question is that since it has been 2 months since I got approved, will it affect how my newly applied pass result is gonna be?

My initial application was just after the 28 days job advertisement in MyCareersFuture portal. Will this be a one time advertisement or will they have to advertise again after a period of time?

Also, during my initial application, I was holding an SPass and I've heard before that there's a higher chance for a pass to be approved if you're currently holding one. Now that the IPA has expired and I'm currently holding and STVP, will this affect the result of my new application for the same job position of the same company even if I have had an approved application before? Or they will be 2 totally irrelevant applications?

Regarding my STVP, since it's been 5 days since my pass has been cancelled, should I purchase my ticket back home just in case?

Also, can the new employer apply for my STVP extension for the reason that they are waiting for my pass application? I've read in MoM website about STVP extension but only for renewal so I'm hoping if it's also possible for non pass holder.

Apologies for all the questions, I just wanna assess the possibilities and what to do if things go south.

I don't know how long the MCF result is valid - the employer should ask MoM.
Every application is evaluated on its own merit, but it is not known how they look at past rejections.
The employer can apply for an STVP extension.
Since there is no guarantee that your S-Pass (or the STVP extension) would be approved, it is a good idea to have a plan B (e.g. a flight ticket home).
