Employer asking 500 SGD for STVP extension

nssingapore99

Hi,

Can someone advice on my situation. I am currently on STVP which will expire on 24 June and my EP is in pending status. I want to extend my STVP on grounds of 'Pass holder flight is in next 14 days' however when I reached to my ex employer they are asking me to cover 500 SGD for this.

Please advice on this.

Should I report to MOM on this ? Can MOM help me on this matter?

Of course yes, I think this is outrageously illegal and so you should have proof else would be hearsay

U go direct to MOM. But don't complain first them about $500. U request first your situation.  Then will get good result from Officer.

Should I go to MOM on 24th June which is the date when my STVP expires or should I go early to MOM with flight ticket, email evidence that my ex employer is asking 500 SGD and passport to get my STVP extended to next 14 days until 8 July?

Please advice.

As far as I know, there is no fee for STVP extensions at MoM.
Please ask your (ex-)employer to explain what the S$500 are for, then send the reply to MoM and ask if this is allowed and if you can extend it yourself at MoM instead.
