STVP Extension to 120 days.

nayeshaf

Hi. I am PR and my Husband is SG local.

My mother is here for visit(STVP)Now she reached 90 days stay. Extension omlime approved. Last extension was rejected..

We went to ICA building to ask for assistance. They advice as to go out sg(not to return home) to reset as they cannot amend in the system because its already in 90 days limit.

Anyone here have experience? Did you successfully enter SG or the immigrafion boarder denied your entry?.

Thanks

90 days is the maximum anyone can stay in Singapore without a long-term (residence) visa.

As you can read on this forum and elsewhere, there is no possibility for "visa runs" to reset the visa duration in Singapore. If you exit the country and try to return after a short while, you will be denied entry.

There is no official guidance what "a short while" is. But after 90 days in, just a few days out are certainly not enough. If you try too early and are denied, you are usually asked to get ICA approval before any next attempt (and this approval will then not be given for a while).

To be on the safe side, staying outside at least as long as you were in is recommended. That is what I would recommend your mother to do! (And, on top of that, she should not plan on staing 90 days in future, as the second 30-days-renewal is not given often!)
