Less foreign workers in Singapore

Hey everyone,

I am Anne-Lise and I'm in charge of the editorial team here at Expat.com. As you may or may not know, the Singaporean government has decided to cut down on foreign workers in the services sector. We have gathered some information for the article below:

https://www.expat.com/en/expat-mag/2444 … ector.html

But we would also like to hear from you for a future article. What do you think of this measure? Are any of you worried?

Feel free to answer on this post or send me a private message!

Thank you,
Anne-Lise

Every sector will get a pinch hit. IT sector will be in the list. As automation is looming in Banking and Finance sectors here, most of service delivery and IT support jobs are going to hit. Many banks have already relocated their IT staffs to India. In years to come, this process will be continuing.

It depends on in IT, what’s your job role. Read my thread, I have defined it. Good luck

What about service sectors like aesthetics clinic ?

Govt didn’t disclose in details. You can read in my thread exactly what Govt informed in public.

hi.
can tell me what is the adverse banned in singapore
my younger brother just pass the bca skill . he want to com singapore. but agent say his pasport adverse record by mom. what we can do now?
Junayed Mohammad: Your posts above are difficult to understand due to your language skills. I assume that your brother applied for a work pass and it was rejected by MoM due to "adverse records"?
If so, it means there is something in the system against your brother. This might be a past immigration violation, criminal record or similar. He should contact ICA and MoM to ask what cause the adverse record, how long the ban will last and if anythingcan be done to lift it.
There is no point appealing or applying again until ICA and MoM clear his case.
yepp !! I just rejected by MoM on the same day applied for WP. although my 'former' employer can't give an explanation (cause they said MoM wont disclose). I think i have applied into the affected sector - SERVICE. I suggested an appeal but they replied it wont change the outcome. Now I am left hanging without a thread. Wish service sector companies would take notice their own govt policies b4 engaging foreigners
