Singapore, quite rightly, has stamped down hard on the filthy habit. If you takes cigarettes into the country, go through the red channel for safety.

It seems you can buy cancer in some shops, but you'll have to find out the prices yourself.

Singapore is about the least good place on earth to be a smoker.

Maybe time for your wife to stop - or to reconsider the trip altogether! (I am serious about this!)

On top of what Fred said above, there are also almost no places left where you are allowed to smoke. Forbidden are all publicly accessible buildings (incl. all restaurants and open-air eating places), all hotels, all beaches, parks and other outdoor gathering places, all bus stops (and 50m from any of them) and near any building entrance (min 5m distance).

Since fines (also for inadvertent violation) are very stiff (minimum S$200, and up to S$1000 depending on the circumstances), it would be advisable to only smoke in specifically floor-marked yellow areas - but there are not many of them!

It's true, there are not many smoking areas. But in CBD you can find a few smoking areas outside corporate building, such as one is at Frazer tower in Cecil Street. Same way near corporate building you will definitely get few spots meant for this.

Rest all places like MRTs, parks, public places, streets, not allowed to smoke.

Just remember you are always being watched by some or the other surveillance camera. So hiding and smoking really not suggested. You will get caught man.
