DP status is in Pending for more than 2 weeks

Hi iam in EP pass and I have applied DP for my husband on 18th Apr2023.He aldready holds work permit.DP status is still pending for more than 2 week.

Please let me know when it will be approved/rejected.

What will be reasons for this delay

Reasons for the delay? Well, it could be that the prcessing officer has too much to do (or is lazy). Or they are doing background checks. Or the backlog of cases to be processed is long. In any case, it does not matter - because all you can do is wait (or cancel the application).

Please note that, as soon as the DP is issued and his WP cancelled, he will not be able to work any longer. I hope that is what you want?

Is there any way to ask them to expedite the process.

@Durga Devi78 The process takes as long as it takes - usually between two and six weeks, but there is no guarantee for this. There is nothing you can do to speed things up. But why would you want to???
