Was blacklisted almost 2 years ago for telling the immigration officers they were a bunch of goddamn morons. There is a list of infractions on a government website with a prescribed period of blacklisting. In the case of discourteous behavior it is one year lol the same for prostitution. There is no publication of The Blacklist. One must hire an attorney and they will arrange for you to write a letter of apology directly to the immigration officer who filed the complaint. The attorney will obtain the name of the offended or charging immigration officer. Inturn the letter of apology will be forwarded to the officer who can you choose to accept it, ignore it or decline it. If it is not accepted the chances of the case moving up to the commissioner is slim to none. In my case the apology was accepted and forwarded on to management. Management then requested Authentication of the acceptance by the supervisor of the offended immigration officer even though the letter of acceptance included a photocopy of the officers badge. The infraction took place in the airport at Cebu. Now nearly six months later still there is no Authentication being provided by the supervisor to the main office in Manila. So yes you are reading correctly, six months to process one letter. My attorney based in Manila has done diligent job and thus far cost $700. As I understand it if and when the time comes I will have to pay directly to the Bureau of immigration $1,000 in a release fee. I offered through my attorney to grease the wheels i e a bribe which is standard operating procedure for most agents. She refused to get involved with any sort of incentives. Commendable on her part none the less history shows this is how the BI operates. So is a matter of hurry up and wait. My Filipina wife warned me that probably nothing would be done or it would take years. I hope he was ever trying to seek relief of The Blacklist has better luck than I have.

Only an observation but there are lessons to be learnt from this post, plenty of others both here and and other sites. Don't do it. We are the sheep and fall in line and little else. Not in Kansas now Dorothy.
Would you swear at your mother? Father? The law in your own country? Always remember "Filipino first" here and a somewhat proud nation won't take sh*t from blow ins that think they are special coming from another country on an aeroplane with luggage and attitude.
Civility costs nothing. A smile and friendly demeanour wins the day,,,,,,,,,, In saying all that? I have never been accosted by immi nor customs in the 9 years back and forward,,,, some 20 plus times over the years.

If you want to get blacklisted be an A hole, that will work.

It's common knowledge that the BI agents have been and are Shakedown artists. Not to split hairs but no one swore at them. I stated what is in fact a fact. Witness 6 months to process 2 letters. There are countless stories like mine online. It's obvious that the system is broken. But complacency and Corruption pervades all systems and Society there in the Philippines.

Yes, I should have perhaps held my tongue and forked over the money with no questions asked.

OMO but most expats/visitors know to never argue with any government official as you have learnt, turns into heartache and heaps of cash. Should have simply apologized, paid any fines and no black ban.

@Suphil1986 I overstayed in 2020, and used indigent, to get out of the Philippines, so I could pay later, turns out big mistake, ended up on the blacklist, paid my fine the overstay already, and waited a year like it says, still not able to get back in, could you give me your lawyer's name, and how much did it cost you total, when you finally got removed from the blacklist??? Glad to see somebody finally got removed, thanks!!!
