I've always done my own taxes with online tax preparation programs like Turbo Tax. In the US I had rental properties, a mini storage facility and a business selling metal buildings. I filed taxes myself each year with the Turbo Tax small business version. I tried Turbo Tax here in the Philippines but I couldn't figure out how to convert from the small business version to the simplest form so I looked around and yesterday I filed my taxes using the H&R Block free version. This is the first year when all I had to claim was Social Security and pension. I ended up owing zero tax and there was no fee for filing federal and state. Everything was free.

I found an online tax service similar to H&R. Did my own and also did the W-7 to accompany it to the IRS office in Austin. Thank you for responding.
