Health Insurance

Any tips for a self-employed individual that may be moving to the PH.  I'm only 48 years old and I pay for a policy in the USA.  Are there policies in the Philippines or should I just get catastrophic coverage and pay cash for all other medical visits?

Like so many things in life the clear and obvious answer is "It depends"... ;)

Will you live in the Philippines exclusively or split time between the US / other countries and here?

Are you now or expecting to provide insurance for others.

Any pre-existing conditions that will require ongoing or specialist treatment.

General physical condition, diet, exercise regimen, yada yada yada...

After considering all those factors and any others that you know, I'd say check with Cigna Global Health to see if it fits your needs.  I am still on insurance from a previous employer until I turn 65 but I am also looking at Cigna to supplement and Phil Health too based on info from this forum.

Best of luck!
Sounds like good advice!  Thanks for the input.

Glad to help in any small way.  I talked with CIGNA last night and their plans scale based on what you need and your risk tolerance...

And no, I don't have any connection to CIGNA!
