What kind of lifestyle will $5000.USD/mo. afford in the Philippines?

Hi! 5k USD is roughly 325k in PhP. For Utility Bills, inlcluding internet and mobile bills, setting at least 30k budget is recommended, with 20k covering electric bills alone, assuming you would need to AC on almost 24/7 in a house that's no less than 300sqm in floor area. So you can adjust from there.

As for the insurances, 5k a month will give you a decent investment+life, and around 1.5k for a decent health card.

Domestic help minimum wage is now at 7.8k pesos each.

For house rental, 70K is already a good house. rentals for hosue and lot can range from 70k-200k for decent houses.

If you prefer to live in condominiums, penthouses (rentals) can range from 20k to 750k depending on location. Buying would be more practical for this. I mean, adding the car port fee, that's a lot of money.

For your taxes, i believe if you stay for less than 6mos, you pay 25% flat? more than 6 mos, your taxes will be subject to local rates so that's from 0% to 35%. But I think if money is from US and is already subjected to US tax, you will not be taxes anymore? I don't know about the filing tho.

I hope this helps
