Hi,

can a foreigner buy property in the Maldives ?

If so, is it complicated? What is the process of purchasing a property in the Maldives ?

Any tips for buying property, such as a check-list of items to verify ?

at the moment foreigners cannot buy property in Maldives. any one can lease a property for long term like 50 years. the prices depends of the location of the property. normally capital city is very very expensive and the procedure of leasing is very simple.

as Jaufar mentioned, Foreigners cannot buy Lands or properties in maldives, they can either lease or invest on a property, lease agreements can be up to 50 years maximum.

now we have companies providing investment opportunities for foreigners. including my own.
