Looking for post-lockdown friends & social connections

Hello,

I am an expat from India, who landed in KL in the nick of time before the lockdown. My wife and toddler son could not join me -- which was a bummer. They plan to arrive soon. Anyhow, after four months of isolation, I look forward to making new friends. I stay in KLCC, and my objective here is to make rewarding acquaintances. I welcome people of all creeds, gender and social backgrounds.

A little bit about me:

An expat with eclectic tastes! A cyber defence professional and geopolitical analyst by background. I am quite well read. I write publicly for leading newspapers. A closeted poet. I like running, hitting the gym, and exploring the city on foot. I crave for all cuisines. My spiritual and mystic roots help me accept all faiths and creeds, although I am agnostic. I am based in KLCC.

Best,
Pukhraj

Hi Pukhraj  :)

How are you doing ? Sad to hear that your family couldn't join you. When are they due to arrive - any idea ?

There used to be monthly gatherings for Expats in KL but due to Covid, everything has been put on hold. Would you say that it is now safe ?

Cheers,
Anoushka
Hi there, Anoushka! Well, thanks a lot for replying. My family's visa process has been re-initiated but it seems like the journey may only happen in a while. Yes, while it's still tricky to organize large gatherings, I think small meetups are the way to go. Let me know if there's something in the works! Have a good, long weekend...I wonder how mine will pass. :/
Hey Pukhraj_s, hope that their visa is processed sooner than expected. I wonder whether the Lake gardens or the central market is open and accessible to visitors.

Any idea whether gyms are open ?

Hopefully this thread gets some more comments/suggestions...

;)
Hey, Anoushka. I am presuming that you are a local? Yes, the malls are wide open. I go for runs at the KLCC park and Titiwangsa lake. Outdoors are still fun. I overdo them most of the weekends and come home exhausted enough to sleep peacefully. :D
I am in Mauritius  :) trapped, borders are still closed here. You are lucky to be in KL, make the best of it. Arguably one of the most well infrastructured countries.
Ah! How's the situation in Mauritius? What a beautiful place that is. Going by your name, do you trace your ancestry to India?
Hi Pukhraj,

"do you trace your ancestry to India?" You guessed right  :)

It is not that bad in Mauritius, except that borders are closed and citizens and residents abroad can't come back. But here have a look > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EG6ovcUNlTw
