Tax help please

anyone faced similar issue?

Hi i need help please

Visa type: employment visa

I joined a company in Malaysia in March 2026 and stayed in Malaysia until the end of May. Unfortunately, I had to return to my home country due to an emergency. I then returned to Malaysia in August 2026 and plan to remain here continuously.

My understanding is that the absence breaks the consecutive-day requirement, and my stay from August to December alone will not reach 182 days. However, if my total days spent in Malaysia during the entire 2026 calendar year are more than 182 days, can I still qualify as a Malaysian tax resident for 2026?

any continuous 14 days rule because i checked they doesn't mention any in pdf also if i complete 182 days or more so i will be fall in 7a rule which says you have to stay for 182 or more.
