Hi everyone,

I’m currently applying for the Malaysia Residence Pass-Talent (RP-T).

I’m curious to hear from people who have experience with RP-T applications, particularly whether you think my profile would stand out positively to the RP-T panel.

Here is my background:

* Nationality:** Indian

* Time in Malaysia:** Over 3.5 years of professional employment in Malaysia

* Current/most recent salary:** RM15,500/month for the last 3 years

* Profession:** Lead Cloud Engineer

* Industry:** Software / Cloud Computing

* Experience:** 8+ years in software engineering

* Malaysian qualifications:** Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Software Engineering from the University of Malaya (UM), ranked No. 1 in Malaysia

* Professional certifications:** AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate and AWS Certified Developer – Associate

* Technical background:** Cloud computing, AWS, distributed systems, serverless architecture, mobile applications, and full-stack development

* Malaysian tax:** I have been paying Malaysian income tax throughout my professional employment

* Local contribution:** I have worked on software systems and led engineering teams in Malaysia, including managing a small engineering team

* Recommendation letters:** Two from my former supervisors at the University of Malaya and one from my current employer at Director level

* Local sponsor:** One of my former supervisors, who is currently a Professor at the University of Malaya

For those familiar with the RP-T process, I would genuinely appreciate your opinion:

**Does this profile stand out sufficiently to the RP-T panel, or does it look more like a profile that simply meets the minimum eligibility requirements?**

If you have been through the RP-T process yourself, I’d also be very interested to know which aspects of your profile you believe helped your application, particularly if you were in IT, software engineering, or cloud computing.

I’m looking for honest opinions, including whether you think there are any weaknesses in my profile that the panel might consider.
