Any Expats in Sabah??

JungleTrunk

Hi everybody,

I am planning a visit to Sabah, and really hope to get in contact with someone living there, that can help me figure out a few things about the place.

Please let me hear from you, who ever you are.

Thanks -

Non-domestic Tourists are not allowed into Sabah as of yet.

And if you are considering entering on the Sabah MM2H program they have apparently decided to suspend new applications and await the review by the Federal MM2H program before beginning again...probably under new requirements. That was the word provided me from the major agent in Kota Kinabalu.

If you're already in the country there should be no problem coming in. I live in KK, anything just ask away.

That sounds promising. Do you have thing semi-official (e.g. newspaper article) that Foreigners in Malaysia can come without facing quarantine?

Try this link from the Daily Express,

Also call up the Immigration Department to confirm.

I'm operating a small beach chalet resort and yesterday I received a French Expat couple from KL.

So there's no problem for foreign tourist to visit Sabah if you're already in the country.

Were they one expired tourist visas? Or are they on MM2H or other valid visas?

The implies that foreigners with valid visas can enter.

BTW I would assume an EXTENDED Visa would be a valid visa.

They were expats working with companies in KL.

So presumably they had a Employment Visa. Not an expired 90-Day tourist pass. But here's an idea.

What if Sabah offered all those on a 90-Day expired pass an automatic 90 extension? Or maybe justify it by saying "we're treating it as an 'out of country' situation". Maybe have them pay for a Journey Performed Visa (i.e. @ MYR 500). With that they could enter Sabah, do some tourism, and return to Peninsula Malaysia.

That's a great idea. Tourism is so badly hit in Sabah any boost however small will be welcomed. I'm sure the tourism minister would welcome that idea. Just look at the hundreds of tour buses lying idle at the sports complex parking lot, it's a scary sight. If only I could be the Chief Minister.🤣
