Moving my stuff from SG to MY

Hi there,

Am thinking of taking a break for 1-2 years and stay in MY (KL) during that period. I'm currently living and working in SG. I'm eligible to stay up to 90-days in MY. After that will need to do visa runs, since while I'm sufficiently funded to stay for several years in MY, am below 50 and do not meet the monthly cash flow requirement of MM2H.

Will moving companies be able to ship my apartment's stuff from SG to MY in the case above? (please assume I will have worked out a suitable living arrangement and hence will have an MY address to ship to).

Hold on. What makes you think you can do visa runs? Most of this has gone away already, you would be lucky to even get two visa runs before they deny you. Malaysia isnt a refuge for hanging out. In a denial at the border they will give you three days to get to the immigration office. And when they stamp your passport with that info you wont even be able to leave again until you get to the office. At the office they will ask what is your justification for staying and tourism wont be enough. Since you arent able to get MMSH, you are left with marriage, work or education for visas (did I miss any?). Since you sound unlikely to pursue those, go ahead and move for 90 days but i wouldnt unpack. Thailand is the same, Philippines and Indonesia im not sure. At some point, should you find yourself at the immigration office they are going to tell you that you need to go home and will give you seven days to pack. Even after one time of 90-days there is no guarantee of a second stint. Also, though there is no uniformity of enforcement, they want a visa run to be a minimum of a month. You'll come back in a few days and maybe the border clerk will give you 90-days or maybe not. Its a crap shoot. I would think harder on your plan. Good luck.
