Food stuff and transportation expenses

I am a family of five and need to know about per day expenses for food and transportation during my recent 10 days visit to Malaysia. I know they may vary depending on the food stalls or the restaurants I choose. Just give me an idea how about much one time meal can cost to a budget traveller and what are the prevailing fares of metro and taxi.

taxis can really  be expensive
i would say its cheaper or at par of eating in uae

Any idea about the fares, and what is the replacement for taxi, should it be local transport or metro service, specially while moving with family.
