I am a US citizen and so is my wife. We were married in US.

So what is the process for a US couples living outside US to file for divorce.

As a US citizen living outside the US, you may be able to file for divorce in the US state where you were last residing. You may also be able to file in the state where your spouse currently resides or where you both last lived together as a married couple. This question comes up once or twice a year and I think the consensus has been that one needs to start with a lawyer in the state where the marriage took place regardless of how and where the process winds up.
