Gyms in Kazak ?

There are gyms even with US made equipment. Some of them are very expensive. They are called Fitness Centers.

Hello - my husband and I will move to Atyrau in mid february and would like any advice on gyms in this city.   Any other advice on socialising etc would also be most welcome.

I'm living in Almaty, so I won't be great help for you in Atyrau, however I'll give you some information.
There are good gyms in the city. You have the choice between the most expensive ones : Fidelity, a huge gym center in the district of Samal, the one at the Hyatt and the one at the Intercontinental. The three of them are brand new and mostly used by expats.
Otherwise, you can try local gyms, which I've been told are not bat at all, and less expensive.
Kazakh people like sports very much and besides gym you can enjoy karate, tennis, golf, dance and yoga lessons e.g. at independent clubs.
As for me, I'm doing ayangar yoga at a private club with a Russian teacher.

Rakhat Fitness (max 2000$/year), Fitnation (about the same).  Both Rakhat Fitness and Fitnation offer access to the well equiped gym from 7am to 11pm, sauna, swimming pool and variety of classes such as yoga, pilates, etc. all included. Personally i like Rakhat Fitness. It is possible to find phone numbers through google. Good luck.

actually i joined fidelity last month. It is a quiet good club. Service is like europe quality. Equipments are new. I don't want to use swimming pool that is why I joined the one on Dostyk.
I paied aroun 1200$ for 14 months.
