Health insurance.

Village287

Due to my age(83) I am having trouble getting travel lnsurance and once the borders are opened both in Australia and Cambodia I intend to settle permanently in Phnom Penh with my Cambodian long term girl friend, my idea was to put $5000 us. On a credit card or similar to cover any eventualities including funeral/ temple costs etc. to be buried there, any suggestion. Thank you.

Currently the KH authorities only accept Forte health insurance for Covid cover. $90 for the first 3 weeks,  regardless of age. Long term,  you can probably negotiate with a local temple for your 'final journey '.

Any health insurance at your age is too expensive, nobody can afford $600 a month with several exclusions.

So it's a good idea to put a deposit somewhere to cover eventual health costs.
