PR with Spousal Relation

I have taken on responsibility of supporting her family including her mother and 3 young adult-children.  We are a family already. But they can not immigrate to the USA - I would prefer to stay here.

Hi Phillip,

PR approval takes time but your patience should be rewarded soon. Most people report a 2-3 year wait as a worst-case scenario.

With regards to your wife passing, this will likely not affect your PR application. What I would suggest however is consistently following up with DHA to to check up on the status of your application. This usually helps speed things up.

Thank you for the reply.  We make inquires every 3 months.  I also used an Immigration Service out of CapeTown to prepare my paperwork.  They said the same, but when you are in the middle of such a situation, you need re-assurance.
