Hi Yelles,

I never heard of any country empeaching you to enter their territory if you're pregnant (and I've travelled quite a lot, even while pregnant!).

I think the only restriction is with airlines : you may not fly anymore after 6 or 7 months pregnancy (I remember that I had to carry a medical certificate attesting how far advanced my pregnancy was).

Now of course, rules might be different in Mauritius and I'm sure other members will be able to give you more info on this point

we just received a reply from the BOI:

Should he husband receive a job offer in Mauritius, he can apply for an Occupation Permit (combined work and residence permit) through the BOI provided that he is earning a minimum of Rs 45,000 as basic salary. His wife can apply for a residence permit as his dependent. Once her baby is born she will have to contact her embassy, in this case the South African commission in Mauritius, to request for a temporary passport for her newborn. She will then have to apply for a residence permit (as dependent of the husband) for the newborn.
