Mauritius old age pension

Yvon Christian

How do you qualify for the old age pension if you have dual Citizenship (eg Mauritian and  Canadian).
Do you have to stay in Mauritius for 6 months every year? Also is it retroactive?
Thanks

You must have lived in Mauritius for 12 years after aged 18 years.  Social security will get the details from passport office as holidays spent on the island will be counted.  I could not be bothered myself with the paper work.  You cal always appeal against the decision of the social security office as a friend of mine did it as their calculation was wrong.
