Online shopping in Mauritius gets more expensive

The Government introduced a Rs 150 processing fee per Simplified Customs Assessment Form, effective 1 September 2026, for parcels imported through postal or courier services. The stated reason is to recover the cost of the customs-clearance service.

As announced in the 2026–2027 Budget, a processing fee of Rs 150 per Simplified Customs Assessment Form is now applicable to parcels imported by post or courier services.

According to the authorities, this fee has been introduced to cover the cost of services provided for customs clearance.
