Unexpectedly High CEB Bill: How to Address and Resolve the Issue

leandrobernal2000

Hello Friends,

The Central Electricity Board (CEB) contacted me last week because they noticed a significant increase in my electricity consumption over the past month. When I inquired about the specifics, they informed me that I used 2,917 units in October. I was shocked by this news, as my usual consumption is typically between 280 to 300 units per month, even with regular use of air conditioning, the kitchen, shower, and refrigerator. I don't understand how my usage could increase tenfold from one month to the next.

Moreover, in November, my consumption returned to normal levels, at 273 units. CEB insists that these units were indeed used and must be billed, but I am at a loss as to how I can challenge this or request a review if CEB is unwilling to do so on their own. The bill could amount to as much as 31,000 Rupees, which is beyond my means.

I would be immensely grateful for any help or guidance you can provide. Thank you so much.

Hello,

You need to make a complaint at the CET itself. Do you have the bill ? Is the electricity bill in your name?

In which region are you located ?
