I'll take this thread to ask if anyone knows if Almadar or Libyana are providing BlackBerry Service. I know if I put the Local SIM card on the BB (I tried on my Curve 9320 over Yemen and UAE) I'll be able to make/receive phone calls and SMS, but not the Data (GPRS or EDGE) for Blackberry Messenger, Email, and many other apps because the PIN number of the phone is associated with my Home country phone number.

Hilton- As far as unlocking your BB, I bought 8120 from the UK recently and managed to unlock it here in Libya.
Which model is it?

@ ibrahjette my blackberry model curve 8520 and which mintinace center or store in almadar can break licked my baclberry and if i do it is it will work again in Egypt ????????????.

but you have to ask again , and make sure

i had i phone , locked one , i unlocked it in Almadar , costed me 20 Dinar , and i used the iphone in Denmark , Cuba and here

about black berry , i'm sure it's the same ,

just go to Almadar , and ask shop bye shop because some shops specialized in specific types , and see what they can do ,
and the price should not be more than 25 ,

Is not the same as BB, due to the PIN Number

Sorry haven't checked this forum for a bit.

I think he can unlock it.
as far as going to Al madar st, don't bother they won't know.
BB is not common.

If it is just unlocking, so you can use it on any sim card, it shouldn't be a problem.

I didn't go to Almadar st, it is too many shops, and mostly can't be bothered.

I gave it to someone to unlock, not sure how much it would cost now, but maybe 30 lyds.

I can arrange for the same thing for you.

I dont have an iphone. I libya  I use my N97, the BB is still with my home country sim card to be able to check the BB messenger when I got wifi access. If I swap the sim cards, I will lose the service books in the BB,  and it will be downloaded again when I got data coverage from my home phone carrier (nearest country is Italy, and off course they will charge roaming on me).
My BB was already 'phone carrier company' unlocked at home, so any sim card will work. I dont have idea where in Libya you can unlock it, but if you manage to unlocked it, it will work again in anywhere (basically it depends in which frequencies is your phone able to work... i think)

Be careful there don't visit Al madar street that quick i would suggest you check with someone in your company for further advice. As far as I know you cannot use the BB service in Tripoli. So don't act fast!
