Playstation 3 players
I have a few questions about videogames, hehe ^^
Although I am not a pure geek/nolife, I sometimes enjoy a good virtual game.
So is it easy to find PS3 games here in Tripoli ?
Is it possible to access the playstation network by internet ?
Thanks in advance

Jack you wouldn't believe how cheap the 'black market' PS3 games are, I am sure they are only about 5lyd in Dahra Souk, and I am told (although I am a Xbox guy myself) they work. As far as the network is concerned that depends on your internet speed, I am in the Mahari area (central) sometimes get 2Mbps sometimes 128k
Using the Wimax dongle.
thanks for the info !

Games for ps3 are dirt cheap! your right they are 5ld.

Thanx!
I'd plug anything electrical of value into a surge protector/stabiliser ....

To answer your questions first:
- Yes it is easy to get PS3 games, the selection can be somewhat limited (souk talat, souk mahari, fattah tower) ;
- Network does work for us through both the wimax and the LTT connections.
Our list of games so far, all bought here and more will be added monthly:
- Uncharted 1: drakes fortune
- Uncharted 2: among thieves
- Grid: Racing driver
- Colin McRae dirt 2
- Fear 2: project origin
- Tomb raider underworld
- PES 2009
- Fifa 10
- Ferrari challenge
- Chronicles of Riddick: assualt on dark athena
- Gran turismo 5 prologue
- The saboteur
- Grand theft auto IV
- Metal gear solid 4
- Need for speed undercover
- Resistance fall of man
1) How much is a PS3 console in Libya?
2) Is there any LCD TV with HDMI technology for sell at Libya, and how much would it cost?
3) How much I would pay to buy games or even the PS3 console from UK, France or other European country and send it to Libya?! How much would cost the shipping?
Anyone PES fans here? Perhaps we could set up a get together for some 'friendly' footie matches. I'm not into the FIFA series though!

Plenty available.
A top spec 22" LED display goes for around 380 Lyd, right up to a 50" Series 7 HT LED by Samsung for a reasonable 6,000 Lyd
and BTW, if you're into Blu Ray, bring your own player with you. The DVD pirates can't do Blu Ray and there's no call for the players here.
As long as they are licensed products (not copy) PS3 games will work fine regardless of their zone or where you buy them. There is no zone lock.

1) PS3 540LYD (correct me if I'm wrong)
2)I have mine at home it's 42" TOSHIBA with HDMI 1200LYD (LCD)
3)I bought my husband PS3 in USA via AMAZON.com $300 then i ask one of my friends friend to DHL it to me..
..Shipping cost is $120..

Excuse me gentlemen,
without need of any extra BS, Playstation 3 games are Blueray...no way on earth you could get them for 5 bucks... those are PS2 games ..DVD...
All other platforms on the market are not Blueray... and the quality of game is definitely higher at 1080fps on the PS3 than any other platform on the market, yet.
Mommy25 wrote:is PS3 games that you can buy in Dahra will work on PS3 that was from USA?..
some old titles on the PS2 DVD version will work on the PS3 as-well...in particular the first version and not on the PS3 Slim...

It all depends to be honest because all the pirated games sold here work through on the consoles with special mod chips unless you don't have them on your PS3 I am afraid the games won't work.
Cheers,

1. finding new games is kinda hard, since there are only a few outlets that sell them and usually they are gone the minute they hit the shelves. Best thing is to ask friends going abroad to bring some for you, or hook up with one of the shops and ask them to give you a call when they bring something new. Usually they'll ask you to give them a list of games you're interested in purchasing and they'll either send it to their supplier abroad ( Dubai ) when they need new games or bring it along if they go personally to Dubai to make some purchases for the shop, i.e. cell phones, cameras etc.
2. Boot leg Blue-ray CD's for PS3 don't exist...the name says it all ready..Blue-ray?!?! BUT, the original CD's of the PS2 ( not the 5 dinar copies ) work perfectly ALSO on the PS3.
3. Can access PS3 network if got wifi at home, which is perfectly possible using an LTT membership and a wifi transmitter, but i'm not completly sure if it works with the 10 giga ceiling membership since i also need to try once i get back : )
