Spearfishing in Cabo Verde

Hi, im new in the forum so here goes a big hello to everybody.
I basically needed some information on spearfishing in the Praia area.
Are there people doing this sport in the area? Are there Cabo Verdianos i could spear with? Where are the best spots? IS there shore based spearfishing or is it all done by boat? these are just some questions i needed answered but any other information would be appreciated.

Hi Diver!
My name is Ivan, I am cape Verdean originally from Santiago, lived in Sal in Boa Vista for more then 10 years, about spearfishing I can give you some info. I don't know what do you mean ( Praia as an Island or City itself, if you mean Santiago Island I recommend you to go to Tarrafal the locals are very friendly and helpful and they love spearfishing, and fishing in general.
I am living in Belgium at moment...

But In praia its no very familiar that sport.

Hi Ivan thanks for the info and i did mean Praia as a city. Surely though not popular there must be beautiful spots around Praia city where you can do shore based spearfishing?
