There was good food in every country I visited.
Trying new tastes (and adopting them into one's life) is and should be part of any international adventure!

I miss my native food every day. My first expat experience was in New York, which has an American variety of food I know. Then I went to North Carolina, which has a bread product that they call a bagel and tastes nothing like a bagel. Now I am in Taipei, where there is nothing even remotely similar to my home.

I would not want it any other way.

One of the best things about other countries is that they are not your home country. The biggest influences from a foreign country are the people, weather and food. People are essentially the same all around the world.  The weather is something to which you adjust and adapt. Food is what makes life worth living. I would be supremely disappointed if every place I will ever go has the same food I eat at home.

Lamb souvlaki (invented in Melbourne, Australia)

Lamb cutlets, diced into cubes, marinated overnight in lemon juice, olive oil, and oregano - skewered and barbecued/grilled for 1-minute each side (4 sides).
Served on pita bread (pizza dough with added yoghurt) - similar recipe to Indian naan bread.

Served with:
Yoghurt mixed with crushed garlic and sliced onions - similar recipe to Indian raita.
Tomatoes - medium diced.
Lettuce - medium sliced.

Where I am living, and that country food is my favourite foods. I love to try different foods every day. So far, I found. Greek foods are the best for me.
