What did you have for Lunch?

Tell me, show me :)

Here's mine from today:

Mashed potatoes (fresh), red cabbage (self made, but frozen leftover from a while back) and Brats

(and a Martini Rosso - fake version - as an aperitif)

You can also see the whole procedure nicoleb.org/b2/index.php/what-did-you-have-for-lunch-today-or-din]on my blog:  and join the little challenge, if you want :)

A nice bamboo grub salad ;)
Oh - that loos yummie!
But what on Earth is Bamboo grub?
Bamboo is a bit self explanatory, grub = fried?
:)
A grub is a larva, or maggot!

A close-up

I was almost afraid so :P

And where's the Bamboo?

And what do they taste like?
They have silk Larva in Korea, but I never tried them, they look worse than these in close up :D

P.S.: Do they batter them or just fry them natural?
I had "boulettes", a chinese specialty

That white stuff looks like something they had in Korea. That egg thing is the Boulette?

A Boulette (Bullette) in German is a meat ball :)

Looks quite healthy.

(Edit due to typo)
The egg is apart... I won't be able to explain how they make the "boulettes" but it's quite good (some are with vegetables, beef, fish or shrimps)
Just googled a bit.
I'm almost positive they are what's called Mandu or Mandoo in Korea.
I had them fried &loved them :)

Not in batter, mostly fried, but they can be steamed as well. These grubs live in and eat the bamboo, hence their name. Somehow it makes them a bit easier to eat than, say cockroaches... or giant water beetles!

A selection of water beetles, giant wasp grubs, coackroaches, au choix! Full-size pic here: bigger pic

OMG!  I'm so boring....I had cabbage, pa amb tomaquet, which is fresh bread smeared with tomatoe and drizzled with olive oil and salt....I had an ovaltine, and.....hmmm, can't seem to remember what else...popcorn maybe.

say cockroaches... or giant water beetles!

OK, if I had to choose, I would take the grubs ;)

@oreneta - now, that's what I call an interesting Mix.
I could follow and enjoy until the Popcorn and Ovaltine ;)

Fresh bread, yummie!

Here's mine from today :)

Yesterday's Lunch was refried beans with Salad and Salsa and bread (hubby mad fresh beans the day before that) - yummie!

And today we had chicken wings with fresh Salad

(The pic has me as well on it for yet another ongoing project of Selfportraits, though the focus is unintentionally on me instead of the food, but I was too hungry to try more often ;)
I'll share my breakfast today.

:)

I'm feeling a bit like talking to myself.
Nobody cares to share? :(
Give me a couple of days ;)
No prob -you are excused :)
I'll try....I promise....

What did I have...

maybe a word picture if I could remember.

OH yeah...lentil soup with bread in the bottom of the bowl, a Catalan thing I most heartily approve of, and another slice of bread, plus tea.  I think that is all.  No wonder I was hungry later.
Oh, yummy!
I remember that from Fuerteventura.
I forgot all about it though :D!
Today we had Taccos, made by hubby for a late Lunch, yummy!
Soup today for me.  Sorry no pictures.:o
Soup is yummy :)
I have a pic, but I'm doing a goofy little project, so the pic is a bit goofy too :)

Gosh, I'm getting hungry for soup now, yum....
I had a traditional English breakfast in Newcastle, UK this morning: toasts, boiled egg, bacon, and cheese. With a good black coffee and HP sauce.

Club sandwiches for lunch,

A good pint of beer and vinegar crisps later in the airport

And this evening, back in France, I had a simple salad with a french camembert (smelly cheese) :)
Call it international, huh? :D
Today we had Leftovers.
Tacos & Beans, yumyum :)
Normally I don't eat lunch but today I had two doughnuts from Krispy Kreme (http://krispykreme.com)
Verrrrryyy unhealthy but yummie!
I would love to have a Doghnut now :)
WE just had (hubby made) Beans, rice and sausages, yum ;)
