, especially if I were to listen to people that I know. I've been met with the same responses from almost (but not all) everyone I know. I hear things like, "oh that's interesting that you want to move to South America - but why would you want to do that? What's wrong with it here in the United States. Can't you just move somewhere else? Isn't it dangerous there? But do you want your children being born on foreign soil?" and the list goes on and on. 
it doesn't mean I don't like my country, it just means I want to see something else ...
