I had a nurse girlfriend for a few years so I got a good insight into what their work was like.
Not a job I'd like to do.
I have studied nursing but when speaking with some old, helpless, sick people I always ended up with tears. When someone died I couldnt work rest of the day with over sensitiveness. Affection towards people is not enough! Nurse must be a tough lady/guy enough to handle many things. But not me. :)  Giving care to someone can not be given a value. Nurses doctors are angels! :gloria
Some of my best medical training came from nurses. They many times are the unsung heroes of the medical field.

I agree with you Bob, most of the time doctors come for routine check up and they go but nurses are always there for your care till you get cured.....

A while back I had a serious bike accident while on vacation in the US. I needed some extensive orthopedic surgery on my leg.  First question?  Could I speak to the head and charge nurse of the  emergency room  Question to them what doc should I have the ER doc to call to take care of the leg.  Both had one recommendation and it was the same guy.  He did the surgery and the repair was perfect.
Always ask a nurse!

Mal you said that you cannot work if someone died but is non professional because the professional nurse has to show empathy  and never be sympathy because if we cannot control our emotions how we will be able to help the patients and what will be the difference between us and patients' relatives.
yes nurses always there for your help and they can understand you more than doctors u know why because they with you 24 hr but doctors came only for routine medical round

Thats why I said "NOT ME" and thats why I decided to continue my university job instead of nursing. Now I don't see any one dying.
