Anyone going to the Olympics this year in London? If you are which events will you be attending? If you aren't going, which events are you looking forward to?

For me, I dont think i'll be heading there. I have been told the air fares will rise closer to the time - not sure if this is true..  :P
However, i'm looking forward to watching the 100m Final - I have a funny feeling Usain Bolt will get gold in this race ;)

Other events i look forward to are 100m hurdles, 200m and the relay. Either way, i'm sure records will be broken, names will go down in history and it will be a great time for sporting fans !! :proud:D:proud
Agreed! My daughter lives in London, so I am still up in the air on if I want to fight the crowds or not!

Either way I am excited to be watching them! It is awesome to see people break records and living out their dreams!
Lets hope there wont be any streakers in the stadium
Although, some would look forward to this event :lol::lol:
Just kidding, most of the events will be watched by a large audience around the world. :)
I live a 25 minute walk from the Olympic Village, so looking forward to getting involved.  I couldn't get any tickets to events in the Olympic stadium that I could afford £300 is a bit much for me! I do have tickets to fencing and boxing :)

I will be out soaking up the atmosphere and checking out the festivities in the parks around London. If the weather cooperates it will be an unforgttable time.
@BluenoseGirl - wow you are right in the heart of the Olympic Village - No doubt you feel involved being so close to the stadium. The atmosphere there will be great. You will experience a really good event here. On the opening day you will probably see a wonderful display if you have a view from where you are at present.

Are you into fencing and boxing? :|

Yeah - you're right about the weather, in UK its unpredictable! :P
Never the less have a great time there.

Its been a while since i was in that area but i'm sure its been developed and looks spectacular now.  :/

Hope you have an experience of a lifetime..
enjoy :)

Jaz :):cool::)
I wish I were going! I'm looking forward to watching outside of the US for the first time. I was in Uganda for the last world cup and it was an exciting and different energy.
@BluenoseGirl that will be so awesome to right in the middle of it all! Make sure to take lots of pictures and soak it all in!!!

I decided to visit my daughter in September! I will be there after everything has died down!

My husband did not want to fight the crowds :/

Either way I am excited for them to start!

Whooo Hoooo :proud
What a grand opening !! :top:
Enjoy the games, whatever sport you like.. for me the 100m will be my favourite event :D
football is what i am looking forward to
there is boxing wrestling , archery ,

who will win the most medals . any guesses ?
Well China /Russia always seem to top the tables.. As it stands, China have 2 Gold medals already !
China and the United States are neck and neck with medals! How about Phelps making history?
Well the US are ahead now... just by one :)

Even UK has 22 medals !! ;)
Forget the standard medals table - check out this 2012 Olympics GDP Adjusted Medals Ranking. North Korea heads the ranking - they have minimal GDP and have been hard to catch since winning early golds in weightlifting. Finally however, Jamaica is mounting a challenge and Great Britain is demonstrating their host nation advantage in third place. Lots of interesting head to head match-ups on this basis.
What a wonderful Olympics! Enjoyed every moment of it! RIO 2016! :)
I didn't watch a whole lot of the London Olympics, but Rio would be something else for sure. Perfect place for world sporting event.
