I have two.

My wife uses one to go the three KM to work. It has a lead acid battery so it isn't as fast as a petrol bike, but it's easily fast enough to keep up with traffic.

You must have a driving licence and tax the thing like a normal motorbike.

Mine looks like a motorbike but was even cheaper and doesn't have any regulations to follow as it's officially a pushbike.It has pedals but I haven't bothered to fit them.

It isn't as fast as my wife's bike, and doesn't quite have the same range.

However, it's used for short hops and does the job very well.

The pair cost me far less than one petrol bike, and the running costs are close to zero.

They are useless if your daily use is more than about 20KM per day as the charging times are far too long. We charge at home once every week or two. The charging cost is tiny.

These things are getting very popular in Indonesia as they are extremely cheap and work well.
