white lie !!!

the problem with white lies is that they are relative; there are two people involved here, the person telling and the person being told. what the person telling views as a white lie may not be seen as such by the person being told.

sometimes we need to lie it depends on the present context. then afterwards the truth should be told.

That is certainly a very pragmatic way of dealing with it. Serve the purposes - telling lies when necessary, telling truth when necessary as well. But is that all there is to it?

The cross is in the ballpark.

When someone tells me a white lie, they are presuming that I'm too shallow or sensitive to deal with the truth.  In other words, a white lie is insulting to the one being duped.
