I will be coming to Kuwait soon to work for one month and will likely be staying in Mangaf. While I will be working 12 hours a day 6 days per week, I will have one day a week off (maybe). What I would like to know is what should I expect while there?
I like to read during my down time and would like to bring some books with me (fiction) but I do realize there are some books not allowed. Is there any way to find out ahead of time if my selections are illegal, (so I can leave them home)?
One month in Kuwait and would like to know what to expect.

I wouldn't bring books about Tarot and Witchcraft 
But other than that any fiction Novel is fine - they don't check books at the airport.
Do you need to know anything about Mangaf? I live here since a while. Let me know if you need help with anything.

Working those hours (I've been in the same boat), you won't have time for much else. If you're an American working on one of the U.S. bases, the USO will have TONS of additional books you can just pick up and go. There is a lot to do here in Kuwait but, most of it involves eating or shopping...or both nearly at the same time. I've lived here (added up) 5 years. It's all what you make of it. If you need any advice, pointers, or directions, drop me a line. I'm not an "expert" but, I can certainly help you out a bit. Safe travels!
