I like the passenger that wore a rain coat on the airplane in case they encountered rain clouds.

Be nice...remember your first time on an Airplane.

...and, I want to go to flight school and be a pilot...."call me..."

Amazing stories--I had no idea!!

The irony is that Vietnamese lacquer craftsmen made an early contribution to aviation. In 1914 numbers of them were drafted as workers and sent to France to labor in the nascent aviation industry, lacquering the wings of aircraft. This according to Maurice Rives and Eric Deroo's "Les Linh Tap: Histoire des militaires indochinois au service de la France (1859-1960) published by Lavauzelle.

Likewise, the first commander of the State of Vietnam Armed Forces in the early 1950s was former WWII Free French Air Force combat pilot Nguyen Van Hinh.
