Diplomatic Clause Dispute

Hi all,

I'll be shortly moving from Bahrain and relocating to another country outside GCC. My rental agreement is for one year period and expires in February 2023.

The diplomatic clause within my agreement is as follows:

In case of leaving Kingdom of Bahrain or GCC, Diplomatic clause will apply after three months anytime in the year leased contract but upon providing us proof (Documents) of leaving/transfer/termination, paid rent will be reimbursed on prorata basis as per Diplomatic clause.

Now my landlord is contesting that this clause is only applicable for people who are leaving involuntarily (eg. Loss of job) He's expecting me to compensate for loss of rent caused to him and he's refusing to acknowledge the one-month notice I've served upon him.

Just want to know if he has any legal grounds to contest this and will it be possible for him to create any legal hurdle.
The clause is clear.  It does not seem to be linked only to termination but also covers leaving and transfer.

@XTang Thanks a lot for the confirmation.
