i am a 61 yo Texan , livin in Thailand now , w/my Filipina wife . we are wantin to muv to CR , do missionary work , teach english . not interested in livin around volcanoes or in eqake areas .
Can anyone give us insite as to the costs of livin , etc in rural areas of NWest, east & south CR?Also is there immigration offices in the areas? i know i can come for 90 days & my wife for 30 is what we find . ur input will be greatly appreciated  . tnx , b blsd . cowboypastor bill

Hi Cowboy -
Costa Rica is a small country, with three ranges of volcanoes running right up the middle.  While you may be able to avoid volcanoes, there is nowhere here that is outside an earthquake zone.  If this is what is driving your choice of location in CR, it is not a good discriminator.
Cost of living varies, but rural is generally cheaper for rent, but more difficult to get around - decide whether you will need a car, as that is in important cost factor.

i found that most volcanoes were in the middle . tnx

far NW, east & south tho dont seem to b sittin on any known fault lines .

i how abt where u live ? i'll see .

can u give me an idea of house rentals in ur area?
